Neighbors in Action's response to Covid-19

Neighbors in Action is working hard to meet the needs of our older neighbors during the Covid-19 pandemic.  Our Care Partners are providing homemaking services throughout all of Houston County while adhering to the strictest safety protocols. The safety or our clients, staff and volunteers remains our number one priority.

Our Care Partners have all completed the National COVID-Ready Caregiver Certification. This training includes safety protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to our clients and our staff including:

  • Unvaccinated care partners wear a face mask when in clients homes and when in public places.

  • Care partners wash their hands frequently and wear gloves when handling bodily fluids.

  • Maintain proper social distancing (six-feet) as much as possible.

  • Encourage clients to postpone the Care Partners visit if they have any symptoms or have had close contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19.

Volunteer services for outdoor chores has also resumed and we are able to provide outdoor chores as we have volunteers available. We have a very limited number of volunteer drivers willing to provide transportation but we will do our best to meet transportation requests in the La Crescent area.

Please contact our office if you have any questions or if you are in need of services.

Thanks you and stay well!
