Volunteer Opportunities for Every Skill Set!

No matter what your passion is, there is a chance to put your skills to good use at Neighbors in Action! Volunteering is fun, flexible, and easy. Join our team of volunteers that help seniors stay living in their own home for longer!

Volunteer Needs:

  • Adopt-a-Lawn Volunteer- This can be a great opportunity for fitting exercise into a busy schedule.  Volunteering can be done as an individual, family or group of friends. Volunteers are matched one-on-one (or with a team) to mow the lawn of a senior citizen.

    • We have two lawns that need matches! (Approximately one hour every three weeks)

  • Transportation Volunteer - Drivers are always needed to provide transportation to appointments, grocery shopping, and errands. Volunteers must be 18 and drive their own insured vehicles. The commitment is flexible and volunteers may choose how often they wish to drive.

    • As your schedule allows (Drive as often or as little as you would like)

  • Companionship Volunteer - Volunteers are matched one-on-one with a senior to serve as a friendly visitor. Companionship visits include conversation, going on walks, doing puzzles, playing games, or simply spending time with an individual. This volunteer experience is flexible and can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or sporadically. Often, time spent with a companionship volunteer is the highlight of an individual's day!

    • Regularly, as your schedule allows

  • Handyperson Volunteer - Volunteers help with minor home repairs and chores for older homeowners such as hanging photos, fixing drawers, etc. Volunteers are able to choose the tasks they feel comfortable with and arrange the work to fit with their schedules.

    • Sporadically, as your schedule allows

  • 'Odd-Job' Volunteers - We regularly receive requests for odd-jobs and help from seniors. Join our email list and help out as you are available/interested!
